Events Code of Conduct

Online Events

BROUGHFORWARD is committed to providing a secure and welcoming digital environment for all us, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, handicap, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion. Attendees, employees, moderators, sponsors, panellists, and volunteers are among the participants. We do not tolerate any type of discrimination or harassment.

Offensive verbal/written comments (including those related to gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, or religion), sexual imagery, deliberate intubation, trolling, stalking, sustained disruption of talks or other events, and unwanted sexual attention are examples of harassment and discrimination.

Participants who are ordered to stop harassing others are required to do so right away. For both in-person and digital events, we expect all participants to follow and support the ideals of our Code of Conduct.

Non- compliance with the BROUGHFORWARD Code of Conduct will result in instant expulsion from the event, and the participant(s) may be barred from future in-person and digital events.
BROUGHFORWARD may report your behaviour to the host platform for all digital events, which may result in you being banned from the site.

In-person Events

BROUGHFORWARD strives to treat all visitors, staff, and volunteers with dignity and respect, and to guarantee that everyone can enjoy all of our events without interruption. BROUGHFORWARD is committed to ensuring a harassment-free environment for all people, regardless of their gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion.

Before, during, and after BROUGHFORWARD events, all participants, including staff, panellists, moderators, vendors, sponsors, guests, volunteers, and attendees, must adhere to this code of conduct, whether in person, online, or through any other means of contact.

Harassment in any form is not tolerated at BROUGHFORWARD.
Harassment is defined as any sort of verbal or physical abuse or threatening behaviour, as well as unwanted sexual attention or physical contact.
  • specific remarks on gender, gender identity, and expression, age, sexual orientation, handicap, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, religion, and lifestyle choices and behaviours.
  • stalking, following, harassing photographing or recording;
  • purposeful intimtdaion, stalking, following, harassing photography or recording;
  • No personal attacks in any form will entertained at Brought Forward
  • the use of disparaging terminology;
  • a long-term interruption of programmes;
  • the use of sexually explicit words or the public presentation of sexual pictures.

Violations of this policy will result in a zero-tolerance stance.
At the sole discretion of BROUGHFORWARD or venue employees, anyone who is not in compliance may be removed immediately and without return.
BROUGHFORWARD also maintains the right to prohibit the offender from participating in future events. BROUGHFORWARD also maintains the right to refuse service to anybody at any time for any reason.
This policy exists to ensure that all BROUGHFORWARD event attendees are safe.

If you believe you've witnessed or experienced a breach of this Code of Conduct, please contact a BROUGHFORWARD staff member on-site. If you are unable to identify a member of the BROUGHFORWARD team, please email the Public Programs & Events Manager at broughtforward22@gmail.com. BROUGHFORWARD will investigate the situation and reply as quickly as possible. Local law enforcement body should be notified of any suspected infractions of local, state, or national law.
